Are you being held back by limiting beliefs?

Beliefs are nothing more than thoughts with emotions attached to them that you consider to be true. They often feel as if they are part of your identity and might even be felt in the body.

If they are negative limiting beliefs, they will create stress, tension, failure, fears, obstacles, endless self talk, etc in your life.

Almost every technique I ever learned to undo limiting beliefs (especially cognitive techniques) actually only worked for a while.

This is because beliefs have a protective dynamic built into them. They always involve suppressed emotions that even years later we try not to feel. The consequence is the development of defence dynamics and a limited identity. But eventually, through persistent exploration, I found how to work with beliefs more quickly and more effectively.

It turns out, that in most cases, limiting beliefs can easily be resolved.

When you change a limiting belief, you invariably change yourself and your life.

This is a significant part of what we do in transformational coaching.

How do you know which beliefs are holding you back?

Simple – reverse engineer them – look at what holds you back or what is not working in your life, or what patterns keep emerging, and then ask, what belief must I hold for this to be happening.

Our life experience is largely just a mirror image of the beliefs we hold!
